How the floor screed is done?

The following is how proper screed is done :

1- Surface of the concrete must be chipped slightly and cleaned and we should  put Bonding agent before Screed in same time.

2- Screed material should be ready mix or dry mix from specialized concrete plant  – usually grade C5/20 

3- Screed thickness -minimum of 5 cm – 10 cm.

4- Expansion joints or control joints must be applied every 20 m2 to 25 m2 max and it can be done by cutting the screed with grinder after the concrete done next day.

5- Use of power float for proper finishing ( 2 to 3mm) will be there which is absolutely normal if you want 0 to 1 mm you must add self leveling material which is expansive.

6- Curing of water – 3 times a day for 3 day at least.

7- Proper supervision from construction supervisor or engineer.
